I strongly believe that creativity through painting, clay, sand play or any other art forms are beneficial, as it allows the person to bypass the conscious mind and find their own self- expression.
Art Therapy is a technique that uses art and other forms of creativity as a means of self-exploration, self-expression and healing. It requires no artistic skill and is suitable for everyone – the focus is on the creative process rather than the end product. It offers an opportunity for people to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment, recognising that each person is different by taking into account their psychological, social, cultural, physical, emotional and spiritual backgrounds.
The experience of art enables participants to communicate through verbal and non-verbal expression, as often words are not enough to describe the vastness of their life experience.
Holistic Counselling addresses all aspects of the client’s life: Mental, Physical, Emotional and Spiritual. Working on the issues that are affecting you in the now. Using processes that include inner child work, relaxation and meditation, sand play and dream work.
By using these tools, enabling you to move towards a healing outcome where we are gaining control over our lives and our futures. You are in control of your journey, you make the choice in healing yourself - I am here to help, guide and to show you the tools that you may use to uncover and transform the obstacles to enable you to move forward.
Applications:
Being beneficial to all and particularly effective for people who may be withdrawn, going through life transitions, have difficulty expressing themself verbally, or are lacking self esteem.

I aim to facilitate the participant achieving a greater self knowledge and awareness through art and other forms of creativity. Accessing the creative self can allow emotional release and become a form of expression for those feelings that the participant may not be able to articulate. Providing full support to my client, a session may be structured or free flowing moving them to create whatever is needed.
The Goals and Objectives of Art Therapy/Holistic Counselling are to:
- Provide sessions to participants to enhance their daily lives

- Provide “person-centred care” (focusing on the person rather than the illness or condition)
